René Cochlin,
Government & Politics, Law resources author

Originally educated in Paris, René has been a teacher for over 35 years and has a wide range of educational texts published by a number of publishers in the areas of Government and Politics, Law and History. He has two daughters and lives in Kent.

"All these attributes are rarely found in other publishers..."

A specialist in American politics, he has conducted election polls in New York, and been involved at first hand in the 2008 Presidential elections. As a teacher, writer and examiner René has always firmly believed that very little material is beyond the reach of students if it is presented correctly.

"I joined ZigZag originally because it seemed to present at its outset a good opportunity to publish work that I had already tested with several cohorts of students. The work is judged by peers with immediate feedback and that is most helpful to an author. The decision has proved to be a very successful one."

"The support and encouragement I have received from all the team at ZigZag have been second to none."

"I have particularly appreciated the freedom given to me as an author to write and present the material in ways that I have found to be successful in the classroom over many years. The support and encouragement I have received from all the team at ZigZag have been second to none. I have been especially impressed by the speed of turnaround from submission to publication and distribution, and that is an essential aspect in writing about Government and Politics. All these attributes are rarely found in other publishers whose house styles and instructions have tended to be a little too smothering."

René is currently working on a new series called 'Explaining Government and Politics' to cover both AS and A2 topics. He hopes that the approach will prove helpful to hard-pressed teachers of Government and Politics in showing students the basics of how politics works in the UK and the USA.
