"As a teacher, writer and moderator, Karen believes the best resources are those which make the module seem as easy as possible."
Karen received an Open University degree at the age of thirty after a major career change from administration work. She managed to combine full-time study with full-time work proving her commitment to education and self-improvement.
Karen is a classroom teacher of English and Drama at a large rural comprehensive. Meanwhile she continues to educate herself in other areas and is currently undertaking a British Sign Language qualification.
As a teacher, writer and moderator, Karen believes the best resources are those which make the module seem as easy as possible. "There are always 'ways in'."
"In particular, I have been impressed by ZigZag's fast turnaround, professional communications and their ability to turn a plain resource into something which looks spectacular."
"Working with ZigZag is an excellent opportunity for any teacher who probably already has on file enough worksheets and advice to form an educational resource with a little extra work. I would recommend this as a fantastic learning experience which helps refine your pedagogy.
In particular, I have been impressed by ZigZag's fast turnaround, professional communications and their ability to turn a plain resource into something which looks spectacular. ZigZag have always been open to fresh, new ideas.
Being assessed by peers [as part of ZigZag's peer review system] is a useful process, if maybe a little daunting, but one which offers useful and immediate advice. Seeing your resource from another's point of view is an enlightening experience."
Next, Karen is thinking of working on a resource for An Inspector Calls supporting teaching the text as part of the new GCSE specifications.
